Amautiit Launches Inuit HIV/AIDS Awareness Project
Amautiit has launched a new project focused on increasing awareness of HIV/AIDS within Inuit communities while helping reduce the stigma that continues to surround HIV.
Through this initiative, Amautiit is inviting Inuit individuals and families who have been impacted by HIV/AIDS to share their stories and experiences in a respectful, culturally safe environment.
The stories shared will help increase public understanding, encourage compassionate conversations, and ensure Inuit voices are reflected in future education and awareness efforts.
Participants who choose to share their experiences will receive an honorarium in recognition of their time and knowledge.
By creating space for lived experiences, Amautiit hopes to encourage healing, education, and stronger community support for those affected by HIV/AIDS.
